The 10.1” HP Mini 210 is among the many of new Pinetrail netbooks that have been available for a while already. Naturally that means unboxing videos will be popping up all over the place like on YouTube.

NDevil has an unboxing video of the HD version which comes with a 1366 x 768 display, but unlike the previous Mini 110 model, it comes with an edge-to-edge glossy panel. (standard 210 model comes in matte luckily). Loving the new design but the 6-cell battery sticking out is a huge disappointment.

In addition he has another video showing the cool screw-less access panel on the bottom which allows easy access to your RAM, HDD, Wi-Fi and a slot that you can use for a Broadcom HD Video Accelerator.

Screw-less upgrades -unless you want to upgrade the hard drive. Anyway hope this is a sign of things to come.

Hi,
I am testing the Device right now and it is definatly not the HD Version. How could they make it Matt if there is an Edge to Edge Layer over the Display?
There will be more Videos and the full test next week.

I’m confused by what you are saying. So you’re model has an edge-to-edge display with a standard 1024 x 600 display? Or is there a glossy removable plastic sheet on your matte display here?

Thanks for participating!

its good to know that the button is the clicking kind.

@Peter
Also a non HD 210 here: glossy panel and 100% sure it’s not some plastic sheet

nDevil 01/18 at 08:45 PM

@Peter Asu Fahrertuer says it definatly doesnt have a plastic sheet and I can’t go higher than 1024x600 on the Resolution. Where did you read about a matt Version? I haven’t heard of anyithing like that.
The HP Mini 5102 maybe but not the Mini 210…

US HP Mini 210 model mentions an anti-glare screen for the 1024 x 600 version, unlike the HD version. A matte display version was also on display at CES 2010.

Thanks for participating!
