Update 2: Product page is now up. Added more specs.
Update: I forgot to mention that it’s available to pre-order from today.
Kohjinsha’s 10.1” dual display netbook, spotted in October at CEATEC 2009, will finally see the light of day! It will go on sale in Japan, branded as the Kohjinsha DZ, next month in December on the 11th priced at 79,800 yen ($921 - chop a few hundred off for a US price).
The Kohjinsha DZ will feature two 10.1” 1024x600 displays that fold out horizontally giving a total resolution of 2048 x 600 pixels.
The specs: AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 (1.6GHz) processor, AMD RS780MN chipset + ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics, 1GB RAM (2 slots - 4GB max), 160GB HDD, 1.3MP Webcam, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi. Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. Fingerprint scanner resides on the right screen bezel area. Built-in 1-Seg TV Tuner with antenna.
Weighs pretty heavy for a netbook at 1.84kg. 6-cell 5200mAh, 11.1V battery rated at 4.5 hours of battery life.
Ports: 3x USB 2.0, headphone, microphone, SD + MicroSD card readers, mute and power switches. Switch for wireless, too - not clear if it’s for Wi-Fi or the TV Tuner.
No product information up at Kohjinsha just yet but check out the demo video posted last month

Poor man’s W700ds I guess. How thick is it with that extra screen?
Don’t know but the whole netbook thickness is 19 ~ 42mm (0.7” - 1.6”).
Thanks for participating!
I see that it can swivel too, but I didn’t see any mention of a touchscreen.
The reason I think this is a failure is the fact that they still use 1024*600 screens… I don’t care if it had 4 screens, it’s still got that crappy 600 pixel vertical resolution, thankfully I have a little utility to squash my resolution to 1024*768 or else I couldn’t run some programs that require at least that resolution.
Full specs are up but no touchscreen mentioned though I can’t imagine touching protruding screens such as these - might wobble.
Thanks for participating!
