While China continues to flood the market with super cheap plastic netbooks, Sheng Potential Technology is trying to break the mould by introducing netbooks with higher build quality and their first attempt is in the form of the T108.
The T108 is inspired by the HP Mini 2133 and there are similarities on the outside even sporting a brushed aluminium finish on the lid. On the inside though there are no similarities. Specs are slightly more beefy than the Average netbook over there: 10.1” display, Atom N280 processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, webcam, SIM card slot for 3G, card reader and a 3-cell 3000mAh Li-poly battery.
Priced at around the $300 mark it’s a little more pricey than the low $200 mark for all these 10-inch el’ cheapo netbooks in the same market. Hmm, nice idea but history has told us that expensive netbooks aren’t popular, even though they may be good - excellent products (cough cough Eee PC S101)
