Update: Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PT pops up in Australia

The 11.6” Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PT tablet convertible has gone official in Italy. Pricing is not known but it is expected out shortly after Windows 7 goes official on Thursday.

The Acer Aspire Timeline 1820PT packs in an 11.6” 1366 x 768 (or 1024 x 600) display, Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.2GHz) processor, GMA X4500MHD, 4GB RAM (8 max), 250-320GB HDD, 3G, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.

Ports: 3x USB, VGA, HDMI, audio in/out, card reader. Weighs 1.72kg / 3.79 lbs. I comes with Windows 7 Home Premium. 8 hour battery life. Display and touchpad are both multi-touch.

I am curious how this model with differ (if it differs) from the US Timeline 1820P that was revealed unofficially a while back.

this has a dual core 1.2 , the other has a single core 1.4. What we need is a 9400M (ion) or a dual core 1.4 in this.

Just realised that the SU7300 has a stock clock speed of 1.3GHz.
So to round up these are the windows 7 versions NOT the vista versions
1410 intel 743 single core 1.3GHz or SU3500 single core 1.3GHz
1810T/TZ SU7300 dual core 1.3 GHz
1820PT SU7300 dual core 1.2GHz (probably typo actually 1.3 GHz since that is the actual speed of this processor - may be under-clocked due to tablet functionality)

So will this play friendly with HD or does that require a 9400M (ion)?

I get so confused !!

Peter 10/21 at 03:04 PM from Tokyo, Japan

Yeah paul, it shouldn’t have any problem with 720P / 1080P HD movies.. may or may not play HD YouTube though.

Thanks for participating!
