One of the trio of Acer Aspire Timline tablet convertibles is now up for pre-order in the UK at Play.com. The Timeline 1820PTZ model to be exact. Priced at £529.99 with feee delivery. However, the actual shipping date is more than a month away: Jan 25th, next year.
The specs for the 1820PTZ:
11.6” 1366 x 768 display (multi-touch), Intel Pentium SU4100 (1.3GHz, dual-core), GMA 4500MHD graphics, 3GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Webcam, 8 hour battery life (6-cell battery), Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Ports: 3x USB, HDMI, VGA, headphone out (S/PDIF), microphone, LAN

I got my hands on the 1810TZ model very nice machine, could even handle Autocad.
Though the 8 hour battery claim is when run on optimized for battery settings with normal/balanced windows power profile it goes for about 6hrs.
Would you mind posting a little video - if you have the time - it would really be appreciated. As I really want to know how good the hinge keyboard etc is.
After I found this I did a little hunting and found it for £500 which isn’t too bad. I don’t like the HDD but then I was always going to swap it out for a 500GB. Wish it had 4GB ram, but then theres the pt (if it makes it to the UK). Glad to see professional (bit strange but not complaining) and 64bit even though it only has 3GB
