Lenovo has just released a new 11.6” Lenovo IdeaPad U150 notebook model in Black with an Intel Celeron SU2300 processor. It’s available for pre-order at Amazon.com for $549.99, but not on Lenovo.com.
So that’s three Lenovo IdeaPad U150 models:
Lenovo IdeaPad U150 - 6909-56U - $549.99
Black, Celeron SU2300 (1.2GHz, dual-core), 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
Lenovo IdeaPad U150 - 690968U - $649
Red, Pentium SU4100 (1.3GHz, dual-core), 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
Lenovo IdeaPad U150 - 690969U - $749
Black, Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz, dual-core), 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
That puts it on par with the Acer Aspire 1410 with an SU2300 processor in terms of specs, but it is more expensive. If you’re new here, check out my Lenovo IdeaPad U150 review.

The SU2300 native clock speed is 1.2GHz.
The SU7300 is different to the SU4100 in that its better at virtulisation (XP mode) and that it has 3mb L2 over 2mb L2. Those features are probably worth about $20, especially when the SU 4100 is quite capable at hardware virtulisation.
If I was in the market its got to be the SU 4100 model and then if I wanted I would swap out the g for a n wifi module when I get round to updating my router.
Fixed, thanks for catching that, Andy.
For my uses (99% web browsing), the SU2300 is more than enough without any of the slowdown you get with netbook processors, for many tasks. If I were hooking my notebook up to a 24-inch monitor and using it as a desktop replacement, I’d definitely want the extra processor power though (for processing videos etc. stuff I don’t do on my laptop).
Yeah, thankfully on these 11.6-inchers it is so simple to switch out the Wi-Fi card.
Thanks for participating!
