  • 12.1” ASUS UL20A-A1 $545 + Free Shipping

Official pictures and specs have been discovered in Italy for both 12.1” ASUS Eee PCs, the 1201HA and 1201N, both which have been discovered earlier but have yet to be announced.

The ASUS Eee PC 1201N is the high end model:

  • NVidia ION graphics
  • Dual-core Atom 330 (1.6GHz) processor
  • 3GB DDR2 RAM
  • 320GB HDD + 500GB Online Storage
  • HDMI, VGA, 3x USB, audio jacks

The ASUS Eee PC 1201HA is the lower end cheaper model:

  • Intel Atom Z520 (1.33GHz) Processor
  • GMA 500 Graphics
  • 2GB DDR2 RAM
  • 250GB HDD + 500GB Online Storage
  • VGA, 3x USB

Here are the common specs for both:

  • 6-Cell Battery (8 hours)
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • 12.1” 1366 x 768 Display (glossy)
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi + Bluetooth
  • 0.3MP Webcam
  • 1.4kg
  • Available in Black / Blue / Red
  • Multi-touch touchpad

The ASUS Eee PC 1201HA is just a larger version of the 11.6” 1101HA. The 1201NA is certainly an interesting beast… very unusual to see a nettop based processor in a netbook.

Pricing is unknown yet. In Italy, both will launch around the time Windows 7 launches (22 Oct). I do not see either 12-inchers on the global ASUS site nor the Italian site.

Atom 330 ?! with Ion?! Sweeeeet! Price pretty please!

Ion 10/11 at 07:25 PM

I really wonder if Asus can get away with this. Intel will be extremely furious at any OEMs that use desktop Atom 330 CPUs in netbooks.

We’ve seen many netbooks claiming to have the Atom 330 in them in the past, but eventually corrected to say Atom N270.

I’m a bit doubtful at the Atom 330 spec, I don’t think a company as big as ASUS would want to break Intel’s rules now. Plus, battery life would be terrible with a 330, it’s got no speedstep since it’s designed for a desktop, and it uses 8W as opposed to the N270/280’s 2.5W.

VGA and HDMI? Is that really necessary? What’s the point of two type of video out? Seems a bit like a waste of a more useful port. =/

Well I don’t have any monitors that take HDMI, but if I had an HDTV, that’s what I’d likely use. Seems somewhat logical to me, unless they offered an adapter or something.

Or a dual monitor setup for those that will use it as a desktop replacement… I’m fine with just a HDMI port though :)

I hope you’re right about that Atom 330 spec Justin…

Add a touchscreen and well…

BTW that has to be a typo 500GB online storage!!!!!

Peter 10/12 at 07:02 PM from Tokyo, Japan

ASUS had the site take the information down.

Andy: yeah that can’t be true.. no one gives away 500gb of free online storage.

Thanks for participating!
