Acer Aspire Revo Nettop Makes It to US - Comes With ION LE

The ION Powered Acer Aspire Revo nettop is now finally on sale in the US at Newegg.com for $200 but comes in a configuration I haven’t seen before plus a ION LE (instead of the standard ION).

There only seems to be one model available and this configuration comes with a single core Atom 230 processor (1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, ION LE graphics, Gigabit LAN and Windows XP Home. This model does not come with a wireless keyboard and mice either and lacks a webcam.

The good news is that it is very cheap! If all you are going to do is play videos this is more than enough. Read my Acer Aspire Revo review for more details.

If you remember earlier this month, the dual-core Atom 330 Acer Aspire Revo model was announced (again), but still no release date on the horizon.

GREAT NEWS, Thanks Peter!

Comes with USB keyboard/mouse instead of wireless.

no problem.. the situation with ION nettops in the US is so strange.. the late arrival of this nettop and now the ASRock 330 has disappeared…

For those wanting more power, there’s always the dual-core Atom 330 ION - ASRock ION 330:

Nvidia has managed to get hardware accelerated decoding of Youtube HD 720P H.264 videos to work on Ion’s GPU it seems on next-gen version of Flash Player, another good reason to buy Nvidia Ion/Ion Le netbooks instead of crappy Intel 945G ones.
