Now that Alienware’s ultraportable M11x gaming monster is available to preorder with a shipping date in Febuary or on the 1st March, depending on where you live, we are now starting to see some reviews pop up.
Here are scores for games tested (across all reviews, all done at native 1366 x 768 resolution):
- Mass Effect 2: 45 - 60 FPS (maxed out details)
- Borderlands: 30 - 40 FPS (high settings)
- Left 4 Dead 2: 33 - 70 FPS (maxed out settings)
- Company of Heroes: “little or no system strain”
- Colin McRae Dirt 2: 27 - 40 FPS (medium settings)
- Modern Warfare 2: 34 - 64 FPS (normal settings)
Then battery life: 7 - 8 hours battery life for general usage using Intel graphics and 3 - 4 hours switching to NVIDIA GT 335 graphics and playing games (doesn’t require a reboot).
Other cool features: Keyboard backlight can be adjusted to any RGB color you prefer, HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, SIM card slot, one powered USB port and the system comes preloaded with Steam.
Other than the questionable design, no glaring issues with the keyboard / trackpad. Gets praise.
