ASUS Announces 10.1” Eee PC 1005HR with 1366 x 768 Display in Japan

ASUS Japan has announced another new addition to the Eee Seashell family: The 10.1” Eee PC 1005HR Seashell netbook. It’s exactly the same machine as the Eee PC 1005HA with Windows 7 Starter appropriate specs, but it has a 1366 x 768 display! About time ASUS! There’s no word on whether it is glossy or matte just yet. Only seems to be available in white right now. (edit: black model, too) It goes on sale in mid-November for 49,800 yen which is the original 1005HA price ($389 in the US)

ASUS Eee PC 1005HR specs:

10.1” 1366 x 788 display, Atom N280 processor, 1GB RAM, GMA 950 graphics, 250GB HDD, 0.3MP Webcam with Windows 7 Starter. It has the same ports: VGA, 3x USB, card reader, LAN, 802.11n Wi-FI, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. Weighs 1.27 kg. Runs Windows 7 Starter.

It appears to be using the mid-capacity battery as it is rated good for up to 8.4 hours (6-cell battery).
