PC Magazine spent some hands on time with the new ASUS Disney Netpal, or MK90 as it’s also known, for kids.
You probably know the deal by now. Comes in Pink or Blue. Cutesy Disney software running on top of Windows XP.
The whole focus of the hands on is on the parental features, which is really comprehensive. You can control when and what programs, sites your kid has access to right down to the hour, in two hour blocks. You can even block who they send email to and who they receive it from.
There’s also a MK90H version coming, that comes with a 160GB HDD, instead of a 16GB SSD in this version, which is not exclusive to Toy’s R Us. There are also some Disney netbook accessories available now.
You can grab the Disney Netpal at Toys R US, or Amazon.com (MK90H) (pre-order) for $350.
