The folks at Tech Guru tested out Google Chrome OS on an ASUS Eee PC T91 tablet netbook. A good candidate since it comes with a SSD, since Google Chrome OS won’t be compatible with HDDs (crazy!). Alright, not much action really and first impressions don’t seem that great: the mouse cursor is off slightly and the GUI seemed slightly laggy. The guys will have more following this.

Oh, well, I don’t see the point in judging Chrome OS in its pre-alpha state. Google released the Source Code, but Chrome OS is a large construction site right now. It might be interesting to run it on whatever device one finds, but it’s no wonder that it does not run that smooth. I tested it on my Medion Akoya Mini (related to the MSI Wind U100) and it worked quite well except for Wifi.
I think we all should just wait and let Chrome OS mature before we judge it. The fact that it’s completely open source means there could easily be a branch supporting hard drives or a branch without any Google ID etc.
