Netbook pioneer ASUS isn’t looking to be a pioneer in smartbooks as today, they have announced that they are putting their ARM Qualcomm Snapdragon smartbook on hold. We had a sneak peek of an ASUS netbook with Snapdragon guts earlier this year at Computex 2009.
Might have something to do their dwindling revenue loss which is in the news today.
CEO Jerry Shen doesn’t have high hopes for the smartbook market, he is quoted as saying:
Currently, I don’t see a clear market for smartbooks
No big deal right? Plenty of other manufacturers are willing to take a stab at the new market.
