Late last year, we got wind of a new set of Pinetrail processors that will be supporting DDR3 RAM with a possible release sometime this year. Today, Fudzilla has the final model names for these processors: The N475 and N455 which are the equivalents of the N470 and N450 processors but just with DDR3 compatibility. Clock speeds are the same at 1.83 and 1.66GHz respectively as well as TPDs staying the same at 6.5W and 5.5W.
I don’t think having faster RAM is going to make much noticeable speed improvements but apparently DDR3 RAM will be cheap by the time these processors arrive in Q3 this year.
