Spotted a couple of new-ish Dell Mini 9 Tablet mods over at the MyDellMini forums that I haven’t seen before. The first is the most impressive.
Dual Touch Screen Tablet / DIY Courier Mod (pictured above)
pakkei, a designer, is experimenting with this new style of interface like Microsoft has done with the Courier. Both touchscreens are working and Windows 7 detects both of them though there are some issues with touch calibration. He can use it in horizontal mode like the way you hold a book or in vertical mode like a laptop and use one screen as a keyboard. There’s still a lot left to be done though and there hasn’t been an update on this project since October. Fascinating.
Aptly named as I’ve lost count how many of tablet mods there are these days. nevon has decided to jump on the Dell Mini 9 Tablet mod bandwagon with very decent results. He’s got the basic hacks done so it’s in slate form but there’s everything else to do. He hasn’t added a touchscreen yet, no speakers, no bluetooth, no accelerometer yet.
As of last week, he’s preparing the casing and has just added the touchscreen in.
