ASUS isn’t the only one offering netbooks to kids as Dell is going to release a special edition of their Dell Mini 10v for the kids. The Dell Inspiron Mini Nickelodeon Edition.
Being a netbook for kids, you can expect a highly customized Windows XP, or some kind of program running on top of it with plenty of games and comprehensive parental control settings.
Apart from this slime green, there will be two other designs based around SpongeBob SquarePants and iCarly.
Should be released sometime in October, at Dell’s website or some place like Walmart. Pricing is unknown yet, though I would expect it to be priced more than your regular Dell Mini 10v ($300+).
Like the design a whole lot, nice choice of green. Not a huge fan of spongebob staring at me all day…
They are using Stardocks Windowblinds to apply the Spongebob themed skin to XP,
The app in the center is Windows media player with an impractical to use skin applied.
If you like the physical look its easy to just turn off the skins.
This “Nickeloden Edition” is a welcome for my Kids, they will get happy.
