I can’t say I’ve been following the ASUS Eee Keyboard but it has popped up again over at the FCC and discovered by the folks at EeePC.it. Plenty of pictures of the internals, a user manual and more new info.

The most interesting news to me is the UWB port (Ultra Wide Broadband) that can be used to transmit audio / video wirelessly. Up to 720P quality / within a 5-meter range, or 10 meters for non-video, according to Engadget.
There’s a transmitter and receiver that has a HDMI port, 2x USB and 1x mini-USB that can be plugged into your HDTV for example. Another interesting piece of hardware is a Broadcom AV-VD904 chipset which apparently has to do with video acceleration.
Other specs we’ve seen before: Atom N270 processor, 16-32GB SSD, 802.11n Wi-Fi, VGA and HDMI out, 3x USB, integrated stereo speakers, Bluetooth and a battery that lasts about 4 hours. Manual mentions Windows XP but I don’t see this being released without Windows 7.
You can actually use the Eee Keyboard without any external monitor as the 5” 800 x 480 touchscreen display can function by itself although that seems hardly practical.
Still no confirmation on a release date (last I heard was October though) nor pricing.
