Netbooks with DVD burners are back! Not that we saw many on the market apart from the Eee PC 1004DN and several in Japan. Frontier Japan, has just announced a Pine Trail 10.1” UX series netbook with a removable DVD burner.
This particular Frontier UX model features an Atom N50 processor, 10.1” 1024 x 600 display (glossy), GMA 3150 Graphics, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, slot drive for DVD burner / HDD, multi-gesture touchpad, Windows 7 Home Premium and a flush 6-cell battery good for up to 6.4 hours. Weighs 1.3kg.
Priced at 59,800 yen and is available to order. Most likely you’ll see this notebook somewhere else in the world rebranded.

Removeable ???
Yeah you can remove the DVD drive. The product page mentions you can use the DVD at home and when you go mobile use a HDD (with a drive caddy thing). I’m assuming this an additional slot in addition to the 320GB HDD.
Thanks for participating!
