I make it a rule to try and keep out of writing about anything larger than 12-inch, but on occasions there are some things that tie back to netbooks like this 13-inch Gigabyte 1305 Booktop preproduction sample Nicole from Netbooknews has spotted at a Windows 7 event in Taipei, which is the big brother of the 10-inch Booktop M1022.
The 1305 Booktop sports an Intel CULV processor, GS45 chipset + GMA 4500MHD graphics, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 2.5” SATA 500GB HDD, 6-Cell 3800mAh battery and 3.5G. You’ve got your usual array of ports including HDMI out.
A few other neat features include a fingerprint scanner, a webcam with integrated security where you can use your face to encrypt data and a removeable DVD drive whih can be replaced with a 4-hour battery.
Like the original BookTop, it also comes with a docking station but instead of VGA you get HDMI out, so combine that with the HDMI out on the 1035 itself and can easily easily set up a nice dual display setup. Other ports on the dock include 6x USB, VGA and LAN.
