Intel has announced at IDF 2009 that BMW and Mercedes-Benz will be shipping Intel Atom powered entertainment devices in their cars which will be available from 2012.
These devices will be made by Car entertainment maker Harman International and will includes features like 3D navigation, “brilliant graphics” and Internet access. The devices will include a hard disk.

The actual Atom processors that be will used are Intel’s Z series. These processors are going to look mighty old in 2012!
