A couple of weeks ago we saw promo material for the ION powered 12.1” ASUS Eee PC 1201N in France with the netbook being due out in time for Christmas. ASUS global have already stated the ASUS Eee PC 1201N in it’s new Windows 7 lineup although there is no product page yet. Today, Netbook Italia has spotted the 1201N up in some e-tailer in Italy for 510 Euros (inc. VAT) and in a cool silver model (no pics though).
We’ve seen specs already but here they are again: NVidia ION graphics, dual-core Atom 330 processor, 3GB RAM (1GB likely soldered on-board), 32GB HDD + 500GB online storage, 0.3MP webcam, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, card reader, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, 3x USB, audio jacks. 6-Cell battery. Runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
The same shop lists the Poulbso 1201HA model in blue, red, black and silver models with a price tag of 413 Euros (inc. VAT).

After a hearty discussion with Asus in Sweden I can confirm that this will most likely not be released at all in Scandinavia as it is said to be “too expensive” for the market.
Too expensive? Then why in the hell is it being released in the rest of Europe, or rest of the world even? Scandinavians have money coming out of their freaking ears!
Most likely because the taxes are too high here. They retail price on a product sold in Norway for example are much higher than in rest of Europe. Blame the VAT.
In Italy is also listen for 487€.
