There’s a new power management app making it’s way to Linux and netbooks: Jupiter.
Jupiter is an app that resides in the taskbar and provides a few useful utilities for your netbook. The main feature is the power management utility which allows you to change power modes (maximum performance, high performance and power saver). If you have an Eee PC you can use Super Hybrid Engine, just like on Windows.
There’s also an app to overclock the GMA graphics card, change screen resolutions and rotate the display. These are features that you get with a lot of netbooks.
Granted, Ubuntu already ships with a power management applet by default and Jolicloud includes the same app out of the box, however Jupiter wants to be more than that.
Tried it on in Jolicloud on my Samsung N140 and it installed fine and I could switch power modes. Didn’t test any more than that though.
