Update: Coming to the US branded as a Sylvania netbook (source)
A new netbook from OEM manufacturer Foxconn has shown up at the FCC, model name SZ901P which probably won’t matter much since if it does end up getting released it’ll be rebranded. The looks of the machine are pretty boring but it does sport an interesting Linux distro called FoxOS. One manual screenshot shows a Mac OS style launcher at the bottom and an unusual menu stuck in the middle of the desktop. Drivers for Windows XP are also provided.

Only other interesting feature I could gather was a SIM card slot for 3G access. Touchpad is not multi-touch.

I wonder if this is a flash based OS or just there own home brew linux distro, seems an awful waste of resources to re-invent the wheel again when there are already linux netbook OS out there.
I guess Foxconn has bored engineers with a lot of free time.
