Whilst the Acer Aspire One 532g was idling away on display at MWC this week, Netbooknews managed to sneak in a benchmark test to see just how good the ION 2 would be. Turned out performance was less than an ION LE on the Samsung N510.
TG Daily got a response from NVidia about this:
I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the benchmark that was performed at that show. I believe the units there were pre-release systems. We haven’t provided performance data yet for the public, we’ll have more details coming in early March.
So either the Aspire One 532g on display was crippled in some way - buggy drivers, underclocked or whatever or performance actually isn’t much of an improvement or less than the last generation ION. Either way we’ll have to wait until next month to find out.
