At the start of this month (September) we heard rumors out of China that Lenovo and Acer could be releasing NVidia Tegra based Smartbooks running Google Chrome OS. By the end of this month.
Well, the month is almost over so is it ever going to happen? Yes! Kevin over at JKOnTheRun got confirmation today from NVidia that they are indeed working on Tegra devices with Google Chrome OS. Still, no word on a timeframe, though a general “before the end of the year” is the general rumor going around.

Unless there is application compatibility between the Arm and x86 versions of Chrome OS so an app written for one can run on the other its a complete waste of time.
Your stuck with the same problem as Arm versions of Windows Mobile and linux so other easy PR points saying look Chrome OS on smartbooks the actual reality is no different than what you have now.
Agreed. I want to write one Java application accessing a set of OS services (chrome.location.*) that then compiles to either architecture (in a way similar to Android).
