After lots of speculation, it seems the graphics core in the Pine Trail platform is not a GMA 500, but a GMA 3150, at least for the single-core D510 and D410 processors.
I have no idea how this graphics core performs but I’ll quote Fudzilla who announced this info:
Intel is using a two+ years old, lame graphics core for its new Atom parts. The new Atom chipset is stepping up from ultra weak and old G945GC to a “better” G31 generation one.
The graphics inside new Atom D510 and D410 single core is called GMA 3150, which promises to be the slightly faster version of G31 based GMA 3100.
We’ve heard before that there will be no hardware acceleration of video and I assume that’s the case here. The bright news is that you can still combine this new Atom processor with the NVidia ION platform, though Intel is never too happy about that.
Honestly, if it performs the same or slightly faster than the GMA 950, whilst providing more battery life and allow for thinner and lighter netbooks, I’m a happy camper, because there is always the CULV thin and light notebook sector for more power.
Thanks Ion!
