Update: Even more pictures.
Very unexpected news here.. Sharp have released a tiny 5” little MID device called the NetWalker PC-Z1 very similar in style to the UMID MBook M1. These are the same guys that flopped with the unique Mebius PCN-J70A netbook (comes with a LCD touchscreen).
It has a 5” 1024x600 touch screen display and is powered by a FreeScale i.MX515 CPU (800 MHz) with 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and a 68 key QWERTY keyboard. No internal 3G. Runs Ubuntu 9.04 as the OS.
Ports: You can expand storage through a microSDHC slot (up to 16GB). 1x USB, 1x Mini USB, Headphone jack,
Has a quick boot up time of about 3 seconds. 2-Cell Lithium Ion battery is rated at 10 hours battery life with the battery being non-removable.
It weighs 409g and is 161 x 109 x 20 mm in size.
Apparently it can’t go on sale in the US as the FreeScale MX515 is banned from being sold there.
Expected to go on sale on 25 September for 44,800 yen ($479) in Japan and will be available in Red, White or Black.

Banned from sale in the US? How odd.
Pretty neat little device, too bad it isn’t a little cheaper, and nice that it’s got the same resolution as most netbooks.
