Update: See my Stantum Slate PC Hands On Video.

Fancy yourself a Dell Mini 10 slate tablet? Don’t have the knowledge or time to do it yourself? Well, Stantum is selling the Slate PC, which is a 10.1” Dell Mini 10 modded into a slate PC together with a multi-touch display. It’s actually just a proof-of-concept device and not something that’s going to be hitting retail shelves in large numbers.

Sadly, they’ve crippled it by removing the webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1x USB (only 2 remaining). Yeah, great huh?

The digital resistive multi-touch display supports 10 points, finger and stylus input, has low power consumption and supports Windows 7, which they’ve installed on it in the form of an early build which doesn’t require a license key until next year (not included here)

No price is mentioned, but you can buy one.

They have center in Tokyo, opened in october, So I was thinking of getting an acer 1820(whenever that shows up) and have them mod it with one of their touchscreen overlays.

Thanks for that info Robert. I’ll see if I can get in touch with them. Would love to try one of these out.

Thanks for participating!
