Update: Brad over at Liliputing tells me this was from CES 2010. So, old news I guess!
VIA was showcasing a bunch of products at some event today and the gang at Netbooknews took a walk through most of the products. The Samsung NC20 and Lenovo IdeaPad S12 with VIA inside are both old news already and only one notebook, the M520 NetNote, really stands out.
The M520 NetNote which sports a 12.1” display with a VIA Nano U1700 processor, VIA VX855 chipset (1080p capable) and VIA Chrome9 graphics. Comes with HDMI out, SIM card slot, TV tuner with extendable antenna, remote and media control panels on the lid. We saw an almost similar design late last year.
Nothing really new overall though, we’ve seen VIA announce a whole bunch of reference designs last year and this one doesn’t seem any newer or better. I would like to see some VIA Nano 3000 powered netbooks available in western markets with the above 1080p chipset. Don’t know if it can compete with Intel Pinetrail when it comes to battery life though.
