VIA has officially announced a new series of low powered CPUs aimed at the thin and light notebook and all-in-one desktop market in the form of the VIA Nano 3000 series of CPUs. Atom pine-trail competitor perhaps?
The VIA Nano 3000 series improves upon the previous generations by providing 20% better performance while using 20% less power and is available in various SKUs in speeds from 1 - 2GHz. 64-bit support and compatible with previous generations. 1080P HD video support of course. It goes into mass production in Q1 2010.
Some benchmarks comparing the Atom processor and previous VIA Nano processor:

Now, we just need more netbooks to pop up with VIA Nano processors. Intel not going ahead with 1080P HD and better graphics on their new Atom processor just opens up the door for VIA.

Someone make a Ion2 paired with the Nano 3000 series CPU netbook and I’m sold. Tired of annoying limitations & restrictions posed by Intel.
