I think it’s safe it post about this now: Windows 7 on netbooks yields worse battery life than netbooks with Windows XP.
There have been posts previously on the webs jumping back and forth between the issue but Laptopmag, Liliputing and JKOnTheRun all reported worse battery life with Windows 7.

If you take a look at LaptopMag’s tests on three netbooks (Toshiba NB205, Eee PC 1008HA and HP Mini 311) Windows 7 tests results in an average of 45 mins less battery life.
I certainly ain’t going back to Windows XP and I hope Windows 7 can tweak things on their end with later updates.

I have a Acer Aspire One D250 6 cell Bat and with Win XP I got over 6hrs battery life, since I installed Win 7 my battery life has decreased significantly to about 5hrs. So I believe it is safe to say Win 7 reduces the battery life in netbooks. The question now is, why? I hope Microsoft will provide updates that will resolve this issue really soon.
